Larry Hope

Larry is a Black belt under Aaron Milam and Jin Yung, who are both black belts under John Danaher, who is a black belt under Renzo Gracie.  

Larry began training in BJJ under Aaron Milam in 2008.  He received a black belt in 2015

He has always been deeply interested in various sports, philosophy and psychology.  He is always working on pulling ideas from non-related areas into his practice and understanding of grappling.

Larry holds a bachelor of arts in philosophy and a juris doctor.

Alvin Yeh

Alvin Yeh is a Brown Belt under Larry Hope.  He has been training under Larry since moving back home to Hawaii in 2016.  Alvin is a lifelong martial artist and has competed at a high level in Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing and Jiu-Jitsu. 

He started training Jiu-Jitsu in 2006.  He took an extended Hiatus to work on his career aspirations, but began training again in 2014 and got back into the IBJJF competition circuit in 2015 - he finished on the podium in all 5 of the tournaments in which he entered, including IBJJF Master Worlds.

Among many other attributes, Alvin brings a competition oriented mindset and laser focus to our teaching staff and shares it with our students.

Scott Miyamoto

Scott Miyamoto began training in BJJ in 2004.  He received a brown belt from Larry Hope in 2018.
